Google Gemini is an AI-powered assistant designed to enhance creativity and productivity by improving writing, brainstorming, learning, and more.

Earlier this year, in May, during a major event, Google announced the development of new features such as Gemini Nano LLM, updates to Circle to Search, and AI integration.

The tech giant also announced an upgrade to the 1.5 Flash AI model for Gemini, which is now available to all users for free.

This free version of Gemini will assist with summarisation, chat applications, image captioning, and data extraction from lengthy documents. Although it is not as powerful as Gemini 1.5 Pro, this upgrade enables Gemini to handle prompts more quickly and process more content in less time, effectively boosting its speed.

Additionally, Google is expanding the context window for Gemini from 8K tokens to up to 32K tokens, allowing users to have longer conversations and pose more complex questions.

Furthermore, users of the free version of Gemini will now be able to upload files from Google Drive and directly from their devices, similar to ChatGPT and GPT-4. This feature was not available in the older version of Gemini.

Gemini will also display links related to its answers, facilitating in-depth research and information gathering for users.

The new 1.5 Flash model is rolling out today in 40 different languages and across 230 countries. Users will be able to access this free version of Gemini on both web and mobile platforms.
