Google is reportedly testing a new Circle to Search-like (CTS) feature that is being speculated to make things even more confusing when it comes to Gemini Live's visual search tools.

The supposed feature is coming to add to the wide array of functionalities for users to run visual searches, including CTS, Google Lens, Gemini Live’s camera mode, not to mention the Google app's innate characteristic to search on visuals.

As of now, Google appears to be adding a sort of CTS tool directly into Gemini Live’s camera features, according to Android Authority.

When sharing screen in Gemini Live, a new floating pencil icon has been incorporated into the Google app's latest beta version (v16.14.39). The icon enables users to draw or circle items on the screen, making it easier to indicate exactly what they want the AI assistant to bring details on.

The new pencil icon is said not to be working, at the moment, in Gemini Live’s camera mode, except when sharing screen.

Given the conditional functionality of the feature and that, too, with the beta version of the app, it is yet to be confirmed by the company whether or when this feature will be released to all users.
