Artificial intelligence (AI) has evolved into so much more than just a text-based generative tech, but Anthropic has taken a massive leap, unveiling its best coding assistant called Claude Sonnet 4.5.
The latest Claude Sonnet AI model is made for cutting-edge performance on coding tasks, and the AI giant claims it can create “production-ready” applications.
As noted by TechCrunch, Claude Sonnet 4.5 will be accessible through the Claude API and the Claude chatbot, priced at $3 per million input tokens (approximately 750,000 words) and $15 per million output tokens.
Anthropic’s AI models have gained immense popularity over the past year among developers and businesses due to their strong capabilities in software engineering.
GPT-5 vs Claude Sonnet 4.5
Compared to OpenAI's coding-centric AI models, Claude is said to be lagging behind the recent GPT-5, which outperforms it in various coding benchmarks.
Nevertheless, big tech like Apple and Meta are also reported to be deploying Claude AI for internal uses, and Anthropic has sold API access to coding applications like Cursor, Windsurf, and Replit.

David Hershey, an AI researcher at Anthropic, claimed that during early trials, the model could autonomously code for up to 30 hours, building applications, setting up database services, purchasing domains, and conducting security audits.
