Crypto price today: Bitcoin, Ether slide amid Christmas cheer

Bitcoin (BTC), the biggest cryptocurrency in the world, on Monday, registered a loss of 0.09 per cent, staying below the $43,000 price point at $42,906.

Similarly, BTC also observed a decline in its value on the weekend due to the market volatility and the ongoing holiday season.

The crypto giant has lost $1,306 in its value during the past three days starting from Dec 22 to Dec 25, Gadgets360 reported.

Trailing behind Bitcoin, Ether also registered price dips on Monday, standing at $2,264 after sliding 0.39 pc. Over the weekend, Ether’s value dropped by $11.

Furthermore, other cryptocurrencies that suffered losses during the day’s trading include Ripple, Cardano, Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash. Similarly, Leo, Stellar, and Cronos also witnessed value slashes in addition to Binance USD and Bitcoin SV.

In view of all these losses, the overall posture of the crypto market dipped by 1.30 per cent. According to CoinMarketCap, the value of the crypto sector was at $1.66 trillion at 11:38 IST on Monday.
