Final Fantasy XVI now available on Xbox, FF7 remake coming this Winter

Good news for Xbox gamers, Final Fantasy XVI is now available to play on Xbox consoles. The popular action RPG by Square Enix made a surprise appearance during the Xbox Games Showcase and is ready to download right away.

Final Fantasy XVI (FFXVI) is the latest mainline entry in the legendary Final Fantasy series, known for its epic stories, massive battles, and unique characters.

Final Fantasy XVI features 

The game puts you in control of Clive Rosfield, a skilled warrior who fights god-like creatures called Eikons in a dark fantasy world. 

Moreover, the game seamlessly blends real-time combat with cinematic visuals, featuring powerful boss battles that evoke the intensity of monster movie scenes.

Along with the base game, Xbox players also get two DLC expansions: The Rising Tide and Echoes of the Fallen. These add even more story content and introduce Leviathan, a new Eikon that fans of the franchise will recognise. 

These extras were previously only available to PlayStation players, so Xbox users are now getting the full experience.

During the event, Square Enix also announced that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will arrive on Xbox in Winter 2025. 

This enhanced version of the FF7 remake features improved graphics, new content, and additional features that enhance the overall gameplay experience.

This Xbox release of Final Fantasy XVI shows Square Enix’s growing interest in reaching a wider audience. For longtime fans and newcomers alike, it’s a great time to jump into one of gaming’s most iconic series.
