Google has launched a major update to its Gemini app as part of its latest "Gemini Drop" release for October, bringing a slew of new features.

In a blog post, Alphabet-owned Google said that the new update brings a suite of new features to its Gemini app, such as creating presentations through Gemini Canvas, improved LaTex support for complex equations, and deeper integration with Google TV.

Gemini October update also brings advancement to Gemini Flash 2.5 and Veo 3.1 to make it easier for you to help with step-by-step guidance for complex topics and get better controls while creating videos.

In the Veo 3.1 update, you can create videos with true-to-life texture, easier camera control and dialogue with sound effects. "Gemini Flash 2.5 updates help guide complex topics, giving organised responses and better image understanding for your notes and diagrams," said Google.

With the Canvas update, you can create a full presentation, as you just need to add a topic or upload a source file, and the app will generate themed slides, relevant visuals, and layouts, with the option to export the presentation.

Gemini October update also expands the AI's utility beyond productivity tasks. "Gemini can now be your conversational voice assistant to help you find what to watch on TV," said Google, adding that with the new Gemini for Google TV feature, you can engage in conversational queries to get personalised suggestions.
