Google accidentally gave a brief demonstration of an unannounced smart speaker at the recent Made by Google event.

In a 10-second video, the gadget, which looks like a cylindrical speaker with LEDs around the bottom, was shown with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Lando Norris.

Four colour options are anticipated for the smart speaker: "Jade" (light green), "Obsidian" (black), "Porcelain" (white), and bright red.

The gadget is expected to have balanced audio and 360-degree sound, along with sound-sensing technology that can identify odd sounds like smoke alarms or breaking glass, according to reports from Android Headlines.

Additionally, Matter support and Google TV Streamer integration will be supported for spatial surround sound.

Powered by Google's AI assistant Gemini, the speaker will probably have capabilities like Learn with Gemini and Gemini Live that allow for more organic dialogues and automations.

Although Google has not formally acknowledged the speaker's presence, the speaker's brief attendance at the event raises the possibility of a near-term launch.

As of yet, neither the device's name nor its launch date is known. However, Android Headlines reports that Google's new smart speaker might either debut in October to coincide with the holidays or wait until spring of next year alongside the Pixel 10a.

In addition, Nest Hub smart displays are also due for an update, as they haven't had one since 2021.
