The gold price in Pakistan saw a meagre decline on Wednesday (January 31) after a decrease in the price of the yellow metal in the international market.

According to the data released by the All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of gold (24 carats) decreased by Rs 600 per tola and Rs 515 per 10 grams to settle at Rs 215,500 and Rs 184,756, respectively.

Meanwhile, the price of the yellow metal decreased by $2 to settle at $2,055 per ounce in the international market today.

The gold rate has been volatile in Pakistan recently amid continued political and economic uncertainty, high inflation, and currency depreciation. People prefer to buy precious commodities in such times as a safe investment and a hedge.

Data shared by the association showed the price of silver remained unchanged at Rs2,600 per tola and Rs2,229.08 per 10 grams, respectively.
