Google's freshly debuted Google AI Plus plan in Pakistan has reportedly seen a warm reception in the country, yet one of the few hurdles users encountered with the plan was subscribing to it in local currency. Set your worries aside as the company has confirmed that Google AI is priced in Pakistan at Rs1,400 per month.

For those interested, the latest Google AI Plus plan in Pakistan can be had at a flat 50% discount for the first six months. This move has been brought to make Google AI access easier for millions of users who struggled with international card payments.

Additional perks of Google AI Plus plan in Pakistan

The new Google AI Plus plan is part of the Google One ecosystem. It bundles a range of some exciting features, including access to the Gemini app, integration of Gemini with Gmail, Docs, and Sheets, Veo 3 Fast for video generation, 200GB of Google One storage, and family sharing for up to five members.

Previously, premium AI services from major companies like OpenAI, Microsoft, and Anthropic were billed only in foreign currencies, creating challenges for Pakistani users.

Many banks rejected international subscriptions, forcing customers to use costly alternatives like virtual cards. By introducing billing in Pakistani rupees, Google has removed this barrier and aligned its AI subscriptions with existing Google One storage plans, which already accept local currency.

On the contrary, competitors continue to charge in dollars, with OpenAI’s ChatGPT Plus at $20 per month and Microsoft’s Copilot Pro also priced in foreign currencies. This often results in additional costs for Pakistani users due to exchange rate fluctuations.

In the view of industry analysts, Google’s local pricing strategy for the Google AI plan, coupled with discounts and bundled services, is expected to broaden its market share in price-sensitive markets like Pakistan.

This rupee-denominated plan provides households a straightforward way to access Google's premium AI subscriptions, all without worrying about international payments.
