Google has officially released a major update that improves accessibility for users globally by adding five new languages to its AI-powered search tool, AI Mode.

Brazilian Portuguese, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, and Korean are among the languages, according to Google Search's Vice President of Product. Robby Stein.

Just two weeks prior, Google had extended AI Mode to more than 180 countries, demonstrating the company's dedication to ensuring that its AI technology is accessible to all.

The high global usage of the feature prompted the decision to add support for additional languages.

AI Mode is able to provide responses that are "culturally relevant and useful" in every new language with the help of a customised Gemini 2.5 AI model.

For precise responses, the tool makes use of Google Maps, the Knowledge Graph, and live web browsing.

AI Mode also has agentic features that allow it to search for complex queries, like event tickets or dinner reservations, across various platforms.

OpenTable, Resy, Tock, Ticketmaster, and StubHub are among the partners that Google is collaborating with to improve the feature.

The update may take a few days to fully roll out, and some devices may not yet have access to the new languages, even though it is being rolled out globally.
