Google's AI chatbot Gemini may soon be a part of Apple Intelligence, says Google CEO Sundar Pichai.

This could allow iPhone users to pick between Gemini and ChatGPT for AI assistance on their phones.

Gemini is Google’s smart AI assistant that can answer questions, create content, and help with daily tasks.

It's similar to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which Apple already uses in iOS 18 through its Apple Intelligence feature. Google wants to bring Gemini to Apple devices too.

In a court hearing associated with an antitrust case, Pichai explained that he had several conversations with Apple CEO Tim Cook in 2024.

He explained that he is optimistic about a deal being reached by mid-2025, which coincides with Apple's WWDC event on June 9, when iOS 19 is rumoured to be announced.

If this transaction happens, Gemini may be integrated into iOS 19 or subsequent releases such as iOS 19.1 or 19.2. Just as you can utter "Siri, ask ChatGPT" today, people may soon have the ability to utter "Siri, ask Gemini" in order to obtain answers or assistance from Google's AI.

This possible update would allow iPhone users to have more options in terms of using AI. It also indicates how tech giants Apple and Google are making efforts to enhance AI services for consumers.
