In a historic step, Google has formally introduced its AI Mode in Pakistan, revolutionising the way people search the internet across the country.
Due to this innovative feature, which is driven by a customised version of Gemini 2.5, users can ask intricate, multi-layered questions and get thorough, instantaneous answers.
The AI Mode improves on standard Google Search and is ideal for product comparison by analysing and responding to multiple sub-queries at once, like trip planning and tutorial comprehension.
Requests such as "I'm planning a trip to Hunza in October. Provide a five-day itinerary that strikes a balance between adventure, sightseeing, and sampling local cuisine. Or "Are there any free online resources available in Pakistan that can assist with algebra in grade 9?" are now accessible to Pakistani users.
How does Google's AI mode work?
Google's AI Mode uses a technique known as "query fan-out", which divides user input into smaller parts and searches each one independently.
It provides precise responses with citations by using real-time data from product databases, the Knowledge Graph, and online content.
In cases where a response lacks confidence, the system reverts to traditional search results.
Additionally, AI Mode is currently available in Pakistan via the desktop and mobile versions of Google Search, as well as the Google App for iOS and Android.
Although the current version is text-based, more regional integrations and support for Urdu are anticipated in future updates, which will further customise the experience for Pakistani users.
This advanced feature has the potential to completely transform how Pakistanis use search technology, making it a vital resource for parents, students, shoppers, and tourists alike.
