The third trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) has had mixed reactions from fans, and it is already under speculation about what Rockstar will share next.
Up until now, Rockstar has produced two trailers and loads of screenshots and has confirmed a release date for the game, but there is still a great deal of mystery surrounding the game.
The most exciting piece for fans seems to be the desire to see real gameplay. The content so far has looked like in-engine cutscenes, but fans are looking to see how the game actually plays.
One Reddit user suggested and theorised that the next trailer is finally going to be real gameplay and not just scripted cutscenes or pre-rendered footage.
"We all saw that the communication for GTA VI has been way different from the past ones," the post reads. "No one was expecting 70 screenshots alongside trailer 2… I have a feeling we could get something else than just a simple trailer."
Other fans agreed, predicting more screenshots around Christmas and a gameplay reveal in January.
However, not all fans share this optimism. Some believe Rockstar will stick to character-focused trailers and website updates, citing the company’s history of staged marketing campaigns.
One Redditor wrote, "The website and 70 screenshots align with this being the biggest game of all time. There isn’t anything to read into here for me."
GTA 6 was first teased in December 2023 with a rough 2025 release window. After an extended period of inactivity, Rockstar revealed a delay to May 26, 2026, later this year, alongside the second trailer and some screenshots.
Fans showed concern for further delays, although there are no signs of another delay.
As Pakistani gamers and global fans await the next reveal, excitement continues to build. Many are hoping the reveal will finally show gameplay regardless of what may or may not happen in the game. It is certainly one of the most highly anticipated titles in recent years.
