Tekken 8, the popular fighting game by Bandai Namco, has rolled out its latest version 2.06 update (2.006.001 for consoles), introducing a new playable character, Armor King, along with several gameplay fixes and move adjustments.

Known for its dynamic battles and visually rich combat, Tekken 8 continues to fine-tune its fighter roster for smoother gameplay and improved balance.

Tekken 8 update 2.06 key updates

Armor King becomes available for play with early access for Season 2 Pass owners.

  • General access for all players becomes available on October 17.
  • The TEKKEN FIGHT PASS - ROUND 7 offers up to 700 Tekken Coins in rewards.
  • New costume sets have been added: Nightmare Jester and Whimsical Jester.
  • New hitboxes, sound effects, and visuals have been added for various characters.
  • Previous fixes for character collision, move tracking, and behaviour during reversals have been added.

The new update went live on Monday, along with early access for Armor King for those who purchased the Season 2 character and stage pass or the Ultimate/Deluxe Editions of the game. General access to the DLC will become available on October 17, at which point all players can enter the arena with the legendary wrestler.

In addition to new content, the 2.06 patch addresses some major fixes in character balancing as well as improvements to collision detection to make matches fairer across the roster.

Moreover, moves for several characters, including King, Lee, Asuka, Devil Jin, Dragunov, and more, have been modified in order to improve issues in their box detection, unintended behaviour, and reversals. Visual, sound effect, and voiceover effects have also seen substantial improvements.
