As the world has been desperately awaiting the debut of the latest Half-Life sequel, a fresh spate of rumours has reignited the excitement around Half-Life 3.

Believed to be the most anticipated iteration of a PC game ever, Half-Life 3 has been anticipated to be deep in the development stage.

Referring to the Valve-focused YouTuber Tyler McVicker's livestream, ProPakistani reported that the long-awaited game is now playable “end-to-end,” outlining that both the storyline and core gameplay are near completion.

In view of McVicker's claim, Half-Life 3 will possibly be announced in summer this year, and might be released in winter.

Concept artist Evgeniy Evstratiy, claiming to have been “in the room where Valve made Half-Life 3,” added fuel to the speculation building about Half-Life 3.

Gabe Follower, another prolific tipster, suggested the new Half-Life game would bring an end to protagonist Gordon Freeman’s journey.

In updates to Valve titles like Dota 2 and the upcoming Deadlock, code references to “HLX” were discovered, expected to be a codename for Half-Life 3.

Despite the circulating cycle of rumours, the developer has yet to confirm or deny the game’s existence.

The given information is tentative and must be taken with a pinch of scepticism, considering the leaker provided no concrete evidence.
