The all-electric Honda S7, one of the most awaited electric vehicles (EVs) of 2025, is set to launch in China soon, as confirmed by the Dongfeng-Honda joint venture.
This midsize electric SUV, featuring advanced technology and a long driving range, would be competing in the fast-growing EV market of China.
Honda S7 electric SUV to launch in China
Honda first revealed the S7 model under its “Ye” sub-brand for EVs. However, the company has now dropped the branding, calling it simply the Honda S7.
The official launch event is expected to provide further details on this change. It is important to note that S7 and its variant, the Honda P7, are similar models produced by different Honda partners, Dongfeng and GAC, for the Chinese market.
Honda S7 features
According to regulatory filings, the Honda S7 is a five-seater SUV with a length of 4,750 mm, a width of 1,930 mm, and a height of 1,625 mm. It is powered by an 89.8 kWh battery from CATL, offering a range of 620 km under China’s China Light-Duty Vehicle (CLTC) test cycle.
Moreover, there would be two versions: one is an all-wheel-drive model with dual motors producing a combined 469 hp, and the other one is a rear-wheel-drive version with a 200 kW motor. The top speed is 180 km/h.
Additionally, one of the biggest highlights of the Honda S7 is its integration of Huawei’s Qiankun ADS-assisted driving system. This move follows feedback on Honda’s ADAS and Huawei’s technology.
Furthermore, the interior of the Honda S7 offers a high-tech cabin with a large infotainment system, which features a 10-inch lower screen and a 12.8-inch upper screen, along with digital rearview mirrors.
Honda S7 price in China
The pricing details will be revealed closer to the launch, but the S7 is anticipated to start at over 200,000 yuan ($27,500).
