inDrive, a ride-hailing service, reported a 26% year-on-year (Y-O-Y) increase in rides and a 25% increase in active users across Pakistan last year. The company credits its significant growth to its ‘fair price’ bid-based model, enabling drivers and passengers to negotiate fares, ensuring utmost transparency.

inDrive’s Country Lead Pakistan Awais Saeed, outlined the company’s unwavering commitment to empowering both passengers and drivers through its innovative model. He said that since inDrive was launched in 2021, it has experienced exponential growth across 20 cities for ride-hailing and 200 cities for domestic ride-hailing across the country.

The platform has expanded its services by rolling out courier and freight solutions, to meet the rising demands in logistics.

In February 2023, the platform experienced a twofold surge in deliveries, solidifying its position in Pakistan.

The company is currently gearing up to launch premium ride-hailing services, such as Business class, and exploring cutting-edge electric vehicle (EV) rides.

While answering a question on inDrive’s international investments, Awais revealed that in December, inDrive made a strategic investment in Krave Mart. This investment is a part of its $100 million global venture capital initiative to support emerging businesses in the market.

inDrive has taken a few significant measures in corporate social responsibility. It has donated PKR 10 million to the Akhuwat Foundation, aiming to reconstruct schools which were severely affected by the 2022 flood in Thatta and Thar.

In addition, it has donated PKR 7.5 million via the Rozgar initiative to form up to 100 Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in collaboration with HANDS Pakistan, assisting to attain financial sustainability to the remote regions.

While explaining the company’s groundbreaking initiatives, Awais stated: “We organised the "Ride to Donate" (RTD) project in Pakistan last year. This initiative was aimed at empowering youth through sports, focusing on improving school sports facilities in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad."

"With the Global project “YourPace” we launched three sports facilities in Karachi and Islamabad and we impacted 5K+ kids through this initiative. We will be launching another Ride to Donate project in Ramadan and will build sports facilities in underprivileged schools,” he added.

inDrive is also diversifying into Pakistan’s tech sector. The company is working to establish an IT development initiative in Lahore to improve operations on a global scale and create numerous employment opportunities.

The company continues to drive innovation across various sectors, including tech, logistics, social impact, and more, cementing itself as a key player in these industries.
