The first fully digital pension system in Pakistan is introduced by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
As the first province in Pakistan to introduce a fully digitise this system, KPK has taken a major step towards digital governance with the introduction of the Ehsaas e-Pension System.
The launch was approved by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and is scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2026.
KPK's digital pension system
Six months prior to retirement, employees can file pension cases online under the new system by uploading the necessary paperwork straight to the portal.
The system digitally signs retirement, pension, and sanction orders and automatically creates time-bound tasks for authorities.
By cutting the processing time for pensions from several months to two to four weeks, the Ehsaas e-Pension System encourages accountability and transparency.
The Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, and Finance Secretary will be able to track advancements thanks to the system's ability to track departmental performance.
In keeping with Imran Khan's goal of creating a "Digital Khyber Pakhtunkhwa," Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be the first province to implement an e-Pension System.
Thirty-six public services have already been digitised by the provincial government, and more will follow.
The Ehsaas e-Pension System is expected to be formally inaugurated on January 15, 2026.
With this launch, employees will no longer have to deal with the challenges and issues that exist in the current pension system, and pensioners will no longer need to visit offices to receive their benefits.
