The federal government is expected to increase the petroleum product price in Pakistan by up to Rs8.50 per litre on Monday (April 15) for the next fortnight as it will pass on the burden of rising petrol prices in the international market to the consumers.
According to a report published by Dawn.com, the government will raise the petrol price by Rs2.50 per litre while the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) will be increased by Rs8.50 per litre.
Sources told the publication that the petrol and diesel price rose by $4 and $4.50 per barrel in the international market during the last fortnight due to which prices will be increased in the local market as well.
