In a move unexpected from a renowned tech giant, Meta's standalone AI app has raised privacy concerns after users unintentionally shared private conversations, making sensitive information public.

The development unfolded with the app's ability to let users post their private conversations with Meta AI through text, audio, and image prompts, as it allows them to interact with the AI assistant.

The bizarre privacy development took place as many users were unaware that these posts were being made public.

It's worth mentioning that users' chats with the AI assistant are bound to go public when logging in through Instagram accounts with public visibility settings.

It was also reported that the shared content includes serious inquiries about legal issues, tax evasion, and medical symptoms, hence often revealing full names and sensitive personal details.

For instance, one audio post featured a user seeking advice on meeting "big b**ty women," oblivious to the public nature of their queries.

The app has started having a meme-like atmosphere, owing to the AI-generated images, alongside public posts expressing bizarre imaginary scenarios, such as Mark Zuckerberg portrayed as pregnant and marrying a giant bug.

Cybersecurity researcher Rachel Tobac and experts have noted numerous instances where users unknowingly disclosed highly personal information, something which has emerged in the absence of clear privacy settings.

What further compounded the criticism driven by privacy advocates is the ambiguous guidelines on how shared conversations are published.
