Microsoft issued a statement on Saturday regarding its Azure cloud service, warning users of potential increased latency due to multiple undersea cable cuts in the Red Sea.
The company has noted that its Azure users may experience service disruptions on traffic routes through the Middle East.
"We do expect higher latency on some traffic that previously traversed through the Middle East. Network traffic that does not traverse through the Middle East is not impacted. We'll continue to provide daily updates, or sooner if conditions change," Microsoft said.
As a result, the company has proactively rerouted traffic through alternative paths, which may lead to higher-than-normal latency issues for users, particularly those in the Middle East, Asia, and Europe.
Notably, the company is continuously monitoring the situation and rebalancing traffic to reduce customer impact.
