As the Sindh government recently introduced a solar energy scheme for low-income households, Sindh Minister for Energy and Planning Syed Nasir Hussain Shah urged authorities concerned to ensure the timely provision of free solar panels.
The minister made these remarks during a meeting held at the Energy Department office on Monday to discuss progress on the distribution of solar panels to 200,000 homes.
With the distribution of solar panels being carried out in collaboration with the World Bank, its method remained the primary subject of the meeting.
The process of solar panel distribution should be expedited and carried out with merit and transparency until the completion of the project, Shah maintained while directing the World Bank delegation and distribution companies to make solar panel distribution simple and convenient for recipients.
He also tasked the heads of solar panel distribution companies to finalise the distribution process promptly and to consult him when faced with any serious problems.
In line with the vision of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, he called for the completion of a free solar energy scheme at the earliest within three months.
