The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) on Sunday announced to open a new Mega Centre in Karachi with an aim at improving access to identity and registration services for citizens.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Nadra stated: "Establishment of another NADRA Mega Centre in Karachi. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Nadra Regional Head Office Karachi and TMC Korangi will be signed on January 13.

"The Mega Centre Korangi will consist of 30 one-window counters. It will have the capacity to facilitate 2,500 to 3,000 applicants daily," added the authority.

It will provide a variety of services, including succession certificates, Family Registration Certificate (FRC), thalassaemia testing, and arms licensing processing, and many other ID-related services.

Senior citizens will also benefit from specialised counters, and a zonal office will be established on the grounds.

This facility will accommodate all Nadra services and serve about four million citizens from the neighbouring areas, including Korangi, Landhi, Shah Faisal Colony, and Malir Model Colony.

According to officials, the new hub would be Nadra's sixth major facility in Karachi, and it is expected to be completely operational within a year.

The project corresponds with Nadra's efforts to expand services and increase citizen convenience through contemporary technology and infrastructure.
