In the previous fortnight review, the government had slashed the rate of diesel by Rs14 per litre and kept the price of petrol unchanged.

It should be noted that diesel is widely used in transport and agriculture sectors. Therefore, a massive decline in its price might reduce the inflationary impact. Meanwhile, the petrol is used in motorbikes and cars. The government has announced a significant decrease in its price, providing relief to the inflation-stricken people of Pakistan.
