The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) announced on Sunday that it will not extend the October 14 deadline for submitting tax returns.
The FBR stated that it had already extended the deadline once in response to requests from trade organisations, tax bar associations, and the general public.
Previously, on September 30, the FBR granted a 14-day extension for filing income tax returns for the fiscal year 2023-24.
“In exercise of powers conferred under Section 214A of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001, the Federal Board of Revenue has extended the filing deadline for the Tax Year 2024 to October 14, 2024, for those required to file by September 30, 2024, based on requests from various trade bodies, Tax Bar Associations, and the general public,” the FBR said in its notification.
