Pakistan boosts IT sector with govt initiatives and strategic partnerships for youth

Pakistan is revolutionising the IT industry through several government-led groundbreaking initiatives, facilitated by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). These efforts aim to improve technical expertise among the youth and fulfil the industry's growing demands.

As part of this progressive initiative, the Pakistani government has announced the launch of a new ICT training portal designed to equip graduates with the skills required to succeed in an accelerating technological landscape. The portal mainly focuses on swiftly evolving fields including artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity, providing a seamless user experience.

Moreover, in a groundbreaking development, the Ministry of IT and Huawei have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to provide hands-on training to youth in cutting-edge technologies. 

Huawei has promised to establish advanced training programme in centres, with potential expansions to Karachi and beyond.

The SIFC-backed training programme includes a three-year long internship programme, promoting academic learning and industry needs. This programme will let youth to directly work with the top-tier IT companies and gain exceptional exposure to real-world challenges.

In addition, Huawei has joined hands with COMSATS University Islamabad to improve technical training opportunities. This partnership will substantially contribute to fostering the country’s young talent and boosting economic growth.

These strategic collaboration as a crucial move to solidify Pakistan’s position as a competitive player in the global IT landscape while bringing job opportunities for the nation’s youth, according to industry experts.
