The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has warned Pakistanis, whether living in the country or outside, about a fake website impersonating its official portal to defraud users online.
In a social media post, the authority said: "In the past month, Nadra Information Security Department has also identified and taken down 9 impersonating domains misusing Nadra’s name.
"Citizens are again advised to stay cautious, avoid visiting suspicious websites and trust only Nadra’s official portal for services and info," said Nadra, adding that the fraudulent website mimics the organisation’s official visa portal and can be accessed at: https://www.visa.nadragov.online.
Nadra, in a statement, clarified that this website is not affiliated with Nadra and may be used to steal personal information or payments.
The only official visa portal of Nadra is https://visa.nadra.gov.pk. The authority also reminded users to always access services through websites ending with .gov.pk.
The National Cyber Emergency Response Team (NCERT) issued an advisory stating that nine fake Nadra-style websites were blocked in the past month for attempting to steal citizens’ personal data.
"These fraudulent domains were designed to look like official Nadra services, potentially stealing personal information from unsuspecting users," said NCERT, adding that Pakistanis should always:
- Verify the authenticity of a website.
- Never enter personal data on suspicious links.
- Be cautious with links shared via SMS, email, or social media.
National CERT and Nadra is actively monitoring and responding to cyber threats to safeguard citizens and strengthen Pakistan's digital ecosystem.
