SadaPay on Tuesday announced that its app had gone offline for all Pakistani users due to infrastructure outages linked to recent drone strikes in the Gulf.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the company said: "SadaPay is currently unavailable for all users. Our infrastructure runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Bahrain, which has been disrupted since the drone strikes on March 1st. Overnight, conditions in the affected AWS region worsened, causing a full app outage for our users."
Similar to other financial services across the Gulf and broader region, it is also dealing with the downstream consequences of physical damage to shared cloud infrastructure.
The company further added: "This is not a SadaPay-specific failure, but it is our problem to solve for our users, and we are treating it with full urgency."
However, despite the outage, customer's money is "safe and fully accounted for". and debit cards, ATMs and POS payments remain functional.
“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience,” said SadaPay, adding that next update will be posted soon once the company have further information.
