Pakistan is all set to launch 5G services, initially planned for major cities, including Islamabad and provincial capitals within five to six months. Ahead of its release, citizens are concerned about whether or not their smartphones support 5G.
Many smartphone users assume that 5G services will work automatically, but it's not true. Pakistanis need a compatible phone with all the supported 5G bands to access the next-generation cellular network.
If you're confused whether your smartphone supports 5G service, don't worry, Gadinsider has a guide through which Pakistanis can easily find out whether their smartphone supports 5G services.
How to confirm 5G support on smartphone
- Firstly, you need to open your smartphone's settings.
- Tap 'Network & Internet' or 'Connections'.
- Select 'Mobile Network'.
- Then, you need to open 'Preferred Network Type' or 'Network Mode'.
If you see options such as
- 5G / 4G / 3G
- 5G auto
- 5G only
Then your phone supports 5G.
