Pakistan and the UAE are set to expand air travel, making flights more affordable and improving connectivity between the two countries. Two new airlines, Pakistan’s AirSial and Hungary-based Wizz Air, will soon begin operations on this busy route.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE Faisal Niaz Tirmizi confirmed that the terms were agreed this week. The goal is to offer cheaper travel options and strengthen trade, investment, and cultural ties between Pakistan and the UAE.
Pakistan UAE air travel to get expanded
AirSial will launch flights from three Pakistani cities to Abu Dhabi. At the same time, Wizz Air will operate flights from Abu Dhabi to two Pakistani cities. The exact routes and schedules will be announced soon. However, officials expect flights to start within the next two to three months.
Currently, eight airlines operate flights between Pakistan and the UAE, including Emirates, Etihad Airways, flydubai, PIA, Fly Jinnah, Air Arabia, Serene Air, and Air Blue.
Moreover, with the addition of AirSial and Wizz Air, passengers will have more choices and competitive prices.
This development comes ahead of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to the UAE in February for the World Government Summit. During the trip, further talks on economic cooperation, trade, and employment opportunities are expected.
