A photo-editing app, Picsart, has joined hands with Getty Images to generate a custom model to add artificial intelligence (AI) images for its 150 million users.
The company said that the model is set to bring liable AI imagery to creators, marketers and small businesses that utilise the platform. The model will be developed from scrape and will be trained purely on Getty Images’ licensed creative content.
The company confirmed that the partnership will allow Picsart premium users to create their own unique images with full commercial rights.
By generating its own model trained purely on licensed content, Picsart aims to provide users access to safe AI creative tools at a time when there are increasing concerns related to AI-generated pictures and copyright issues.

Picsart CEO and founder Hovhannes Avoyan stated: “Picsart offers endless customisation, content, and editing tools for everything from social media ads to website graphics, and this partnership will enable commercially usable AI-generated imagery from a world-class brand.”
“We are thrilled to partner with Getty Images, the most prestigious commercial library out there, to bring this to market,” Avoyan added. The company is expected to release the new feature this year.
Moreover, the company is assimilating Getty Images video content into PicsArt’s platform and providing it to premium users only.
