A major power breakdown at the Dhabeji pumping station once again caused the water shortage, severely disrupting water supply to different areas of Karachi.
The Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) stated that the outage occurred at 6:35 am on Sunday in the second phase of the pumping station. The breakdown led to the shutdown of four pumps, creating a water shortage of nearly 100 million gallons across the metropolitan city.
The sudden disruption affected the 72-inch line No. 5, which burst yet again, a line that has ruptured several times in recent months.
