Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has replaced emails with WhatsApp as the platform to send e-challans for traffic violations to the citizens.
With this switch, challans will be sent to registered WhatsApp numbers with instant deliveries, which are convenient and efficient.
PSCA Director of Public Relations at the PSCA Omer Khayyam Nagra said every WhatsApp message will have the challan details and images, along with a direct link for online payments.
Citizens will just have to access their WhatsApp to be able to make the payment right after reading the e-challan; they can also continue to pay their fines at the official Safe Cities website.
In addition, as an extra layer of transparency, PSCA has now added a “review” option on the website which allows those wanting to object to a challan the ability to place their objection online.
After an appeal has been submitted, PSCA’s technical team will weigh the appeal on the technical merits and update the challan, if necessary.
The authorities believe that the switch from email to WhatsApp will explain the process and make it easily accessible to users, as many citizens had missed or overlooked challans emailed to them in the past few years.
By utilising WhatsApp, PSCA is ensuring the citizens all over Pakistan will receive these notifications instantaneously and in the order that they receive the notification.
