RESOLVE and the Space Research Centre (SRC) at the University of Central Punjab (UCP) have joined hands to advance space research in Pakistan. This collaboration aims to enhance innovation, strengthen industry-academia ties, and equip students with practical skills in satellite technology.
The initiative will see the submission of joint research proposals to the Pakistan Science Foundation by SRC-UCP and RESOLVE.
What to expect from RESOLVE and UCP collaboration?
The main focus of this collaboration will be on developing a Satellite Weather Station and CanSAT prototypes, which will help students gain practical experience in space technology. SRC-UCP researchers will also get access to RESOLVE’s advanced lab and equipment, further improving their research capabilities.
RESOLVE, an initiative of SUPARCO, is a high-tech research and development (R&D) lab based at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore. It plays a major role in expanding Pakistan’s space research by offering modern facilities and encouraging collaboration between universities and industry experts.
Moreover, the initiative is also setting up research labs across different regions in Pakistan to tackle space-related challenges effectively.
The RESOLVE Central Lab at UET Lahore specialises in areas such as satellite technology, advanced antennas, secure satellite communications, space sensors, and space materials research. By outsourcing space-oriented projects to universities, SUPARCO aims to build a strong research culture and contribute to Pakistan’s socio-economic and strategic goals.
Additionally, RESOLVE is conducting lectures, seminars, and workshops to spread knowledge about space technology. SUPARCO is also signing agreements with multiple institutions to speed up technological progress.
