Roblox, one of the most popular online games, is adding new tools to help parents control their child’s gaming experience. The game lets users create and play experiences while interacting with other players.

However, concerns about child safety have led to more parental control options.

Roblox new parental controls update

In a new update, Roblox now allows parents to block and report specific friends on their child’s list. If a parent blocks a friend, kids under 13 won’t be able to unblock them.

However, they can send a request for parents to review. This change helps protect children from unwanted interactions.

Parents can also block certain experiences their kids can access. Previously, they could only set content restrictions based on maturity levels.

Meanwhile, now if a parent finds a specific game inappropriate, they can stop their child from playing it. Kids under 13 won’t be able to unblock these games until they are older, but they can request access.

Another useful feature is that parents can now see the top 20 games their child has played in the past week. This will help them better understand their child’s gaming habits and ensure they are engaging in safe experiences.

These updates come after Roblox faced criticism for failing to fully protect young players. The company has been making changes, such as introducing special accounts for parents to manage their child’s activity.

These changes aim to make the platform safer while still allowing kids to have fun. Parents are encouraged to use these controls to keep their children safe while they enjoy the game.
