Samsung has announced a new update for its Galaxy S24 series smartphones, addressing various user concerns that have arisen since the phone's release in the market. Notably, the update addresses a significant display issue where the vivid mode appeared washed out compared to previous models.
Samsung has introduced a new Vividness setting in response, allowing users better control over colour depth in display mode. Additionally, the update brings enhancements to camera modes and artificial intelligence (AI) performance.
Previously according to a report by Teknofilo, Samsung stated that the changes to the vivid mode were intentional, aiming to “provide more accurate and comfortable viewing during use”. However, following user feedback, the company has decided to provide users with greater control over display settings, according to Gadgets360.
In a newsroom announcement, Samsung recognized the diverse needs of users and expressed “Based on your feedback, through an upcoming update, we aim to provide enhanced options and experiences across device display and camera.”

The update introduces a Vividness option accessible via Display > Advanced settings, enabling users to adjust colour depth intensity through a sliding bar. This feature offers three levels, allowing users to find the desired level of vibrancy. Additionally, Samsung has enhanced various camera modes, including zoom, Portrait Mode, Nightography, and rear camera videos, to further improve picture quality.
Moreover, the update enhances Galaxy AI features on the S24 series smartphones. While specifics regarding AI improvements were not disclosed, Samsung hinted at technical upgrades that enable better contextual speech understanding for the Live Translate feature. The update is set to roll out to all users in the coming days.
