Everyone’s talking about Samsung’s latest Galaxy smartphone, the S24 series, which comes with special artificial intelligence (AI) features powered by the South Korean company’s Galaxy AI technology.
While tech enthusiasts have been beaming about the new AI features, which will also be accessible for the users of select older devices, it has been learnt that the Galaxy AI features will only be available for free till 2025.
“Galaxy AI features will be provided for free until the end of 2025 on supported Samsung Galaxy devices. Different terms may apply for AI features provided by third parties,” a footnote on Samsung’s on-device pages for Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24, and Galaxy S24+ read.

Therefore, people who buy any variant of the Samsung Galaxy S24 lineup will only have access to these AI features till the end of 2025 after which additional costs will be incurred.
It should be noted that Samsung is not the first company to charge additional costs for software features on new models after a certain period.
Apple also launched the iPhone 14 series of smartphones with support for a new Emergency SOS via Satellite feature that will be available for free until November 2025.
The footnote, however, remains ambiguous as it is yet to be confirmed whether Samsung will charge for all of its AI-powered features or will is only charge for third-party AI-powered features like Circle to Search — which has been created in partnership with Google.
