As Pakistan is pacing closer to the Eid Ul Adha 2025, a nationwide transition towards digital transactions is going on to facilitate the bustling cattle markets, as the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has launched its “Go Cashless” campaign.
This means that throughout Eid Ul Adha 2025, SBP's Go Cashless will serve as a catalyst to reduce cash reliance and promote digital payments during the festive season.
The campaign will remain active from 20 May to 6 June 2025, likely to be the night of Eid Ul Adha, and is applicable in 54 designated cattle farms to encourage buyers and sellers to utilise secure, efficient tools for money transactions, ProPakistani reported.
The Eid Ul Adha Go Cashless Campaign is aligned with the SBP’s objective to attain financial inclusion, building on last year’s success in digitising livestock trade across Pakistan.
This year, those offering sacrifice can use digital wallets and bank accounts for buying sacrificial animals, feed, water, and parking fees.
It's worth noting that daily limits for branchless banking accounts have been removed, and monthly limits are raised to Rs5 million until 15 June 2025.
With Eid Ul Adha 2025 Pakistan being a peak period for financial give and take, digital adoption will minimise risks of theft and manipulation and enhance convenience.
As the nation gears up for Eid Ul Adha 2025, the “Go Cashless” campaign marks a remarkable leap towards a future of widespread fintech.
