Sony has announced that Spider-Man 2, one of its flagship PS5 exclusives, would arrive on PC via Steam and the Epic Game Store on January 30, 2025. This development marks the latest in Sony's aggressive PC push.

Spider-Man 2

Spider-Man 2 is an action-adventure game developed by Insomniac Games. This game is available for the PS5 and was released in 2022, where the character faces new villains and challenges in an open-world New York City.

Reviews on the game's storyline, graphics, and gameplay also leaned to praise Spider-Man 2.

Spider-Man 2 PC port details

The PC port, handled by Nixxes, includes the following features:

  • Ultra-widescreen support
  • Numerous graphical options, including enhanced ray-tracing options
  • All DLC (New Game Plus mode, extra spider suits)

Insomniac Core Technology Director Mike Fitzgerald emphasised the team's focus on delivering a seamless PC experience.

Spider-Man 2 is the second game from this studio to hit PC, part of Sony's broader effort to enlarge its footprint in gaming. It makes sense that recent PC ports of God of War and The Last of Us Part I do quite well. For more depth in the experience, Sony even launched its PC overlay in June.

Nixxes, the studio responsible for working on PC versions, of the original Spider-Man and Miles Morales would handle the port. Meanwhile, Nixxes is working on the upcoming Horizon Zero Dawn remaster, which will come out on October 31st.

Sony confirmed that there is no other story content besides the one stated above planned for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on either platform. It's reassuring, therefore, that the game on PC would have all the story content.

Moreover, Spider-Man 2 is currently the fastest major PS5 game to be ported to PC, arriving less than two years after its launch on that platform.
