The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has confirmed there will be no gas suspension in Karachi’s District West on August 14, providing a relief to residents ahead of the Independence Day holiday.
This news follows the company’s notice to consumers advising them of a gas load shedding plan in several neighbourhoods, comprised of a complete gas shutdown from 8:00am to 10:00pm, affecting numerous areas, including Haroonabad SITE Area, Sher Shah, Jehanabad, Mianwali Colony, Lashari Mohalla, Metroville, Bawani Chali, Pathan Colony, Old Golimar, Rexer Colony, Hasan Oliya, Muslimabad, SITE Industrial Area, Gulbai, Mauripur, Tikri Village, and Muslim Colony.
This gas suspension was for the purpose of relocating the gas pipeline under request of the Karachi Water Board, but they have decided to hold the gas suspension along with the Water Board pipeline restoration programme.
The spokesperson clarified that the gas suspension notice that was posted by SSGC on Tuesday should be considered as inoperative.
