Stellantis has unveiled a striking electric vehicle platform — the STLA Frame — developed particularly for full-size trucks and SUVs. The platform is set to cater to a broad range of powertrains, including electric vehicles (EVs), range-extended electric vehicles (REEVs), hybrids (HEVs), internal combustion engine (ICE) models, and even hydrogen-powered variants.
The STLA Frame platform houses a cutting-edge lineup of features that make it a game-changer in the automotive industry:
- Range: Vehicles built on this platform can provide up to 500 miles (800 km) on a single charge.
- Towing capacity: It supports a 14,000 lbs towing capacity, making it the perfect option for heavy-duty tasks.
- Payload: A 2,700 lbs payload rating ensures that the platform can manage substantial loads, perfect for those requiring a workhorse vehicle.
- Battery packs: The platform utilises liquid-cooled battery packs, ranging from 159kWh to over 200kWh, and supports up to 350kW charging, adding 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes of charging.
- Bi-directional charging: A unique feature of the platform is its bi-directional charging capability, allowing for energy sharing with the home or the grid, an innovative solution for energy management.
Notably, the Ram and Jeep brands are set to be the first to display vehicles built on the STLA Frame platform. The Ram 1500 REV electric pickup, likely to launch early next year, will be available in both EV and REEV configurations.

In addition, the Jeep Wagoneer S, starting at $71,995 and giving a range of over 300 miles, is set to launch at dealerships this fall. Moreover, the jeep is preparing for the introduction of new electric models, including the Wrangler-inspired Recon SUV and the Gladiator pickup.
The STLA Frame platform is part of Stellantis’ ongoing push into electrification. It follows the introduction of the STLA Medium and STLA Large platforms, helping the company expand its EV offerings.
Stellantis continues to launch more electrified models, the Ram 1500 REV is set to target up to 350 miles of range with a 168kWh battery pack, teased to launch early next year.
