Suzuki Alto is among Pakistan's most popular hatchbacks, recognised for their low price and efficiency in fuel consumption. However, Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) has now chosen to cancel the lowest-of-the-line VX variant to make way for safer and better-equipped models.
According to industry reports, the Suzuki Alto VXR will be given a major upgrade, with the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) being the most significant addition. ABS enhances car control and prevents accidents, which makes the Alto a safer option for families.
Other expected enhancements include power windows, seatbelt reminders, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and improved seatbelt designs. These updates will give the Alto VXR a better safety profile, which has been a long-time demand from Pakistani buyers.
Suzuki Alto's latest prices
With these upgrades, PSMC has also adjusted the Suzuki Alto's price. The new prices are:
- Suzuki Alto VXR MT: Rs2,827,000 (increase of Rs120,000)
- Suzuki Alto VXR AGS: Rs2,989,000 (increase of Rs95,000)
- Suzuki Alto VXL AGS: Rs3,140,000 (increase of Rs95,000)
The significant price increase for the Alto VXR MT indicates that it will be most helped by safety updates. Although PSMC has not yet announced full specifications, these price changes affirm that the firm is placing value on updated features and enhanced safety.
