Toyota, Suzuki, and Daihatsu have confirmed the launch of their electric kei vans in Japan by 2025. These small, lightweight vans, including the Suzuki Every, Daihatsu Hijet, and Toyota Pixis Van, are designed for urban transportation and delivery services.

The electric kei vans originally showcased as prototypes in 2023, were expected to launch earlier. However, the release was delayed to improve their performance, cost-effectiveness, and reliability for commercial users.

Suzuki, Daihatsu, Toyota to launch EV Vans in 2025

Suzuki and Daihatsu, known for their expertise in compact cars, are working on practical and affordable electric mini-vans. Toyota, a leader in EV technology, is ensuring strong battery performance and vehicle reliability.

These vans will run on battery-electric vehicle (BEV) technology, offering a cleaner alternative to traditional gasoline-powered models.

Developed with support from the Commercial Japan Partnership Technologies Corporation (CJPT), these vans aim to keep costs low and efficiency high.

Notably, the introduction of these electric kei vans aligns with Toyota, Suzuki, and Daihatsu’s commitment to carbon neutrality. By replacing fuel-powered vans with zero-emission electric vehicles (EVs), these companies aim to reduce environmental impact while meeting the growing demand for sustainable transport.

Lower running costs and compliance with global emission regulations make these vans ideal for businesses looking to switch to green transportation.
