Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6 publisher Rockstar Games’ parent company, Take-Two Interactive, has officially confirmed its support for the highly anticipated gaming console, Nintendo Switch 2.

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick’s confirmation regarding the Nintendo Switch 2 has led gaming enthusiasts to speculate whether the company will bring GTA 6 or the earlier title to the forthcoming console.

During Take-Two Interactive’s recent quarterly earnings call, Zelnick stated that the company has shared a strong and long-established partnership with Nintendo. He said: “We’ve had obviously a long-standing relationship with Nintendo and we’ve supported the platform when it made sense for the individual release.”.

“Today, with Switch, and potentially with Switch 2, the Switch device can support any audience. Civ VII is available now on Switch. So, while we have nothing specific to report, we actually would fully expect to support Switch [2],” Zelnick added.

However, the titles which will be published on the forthcoming gaming console remain under wraps, reports suggested that Rockstar Games is likely to publish GTA 6 or GTA 5 on Nintendo Switch 2.

Meanwhile, Take-Two Interactive reaffirmed that the sixth instalment in the GTA series remains scheduled for launch in 2025. The company previously announced that Rockstar Games’ highly anticipated title is slated for release in fall 2025.

Ahead of this confirmation, Rockstar Games said that GTA 6 will be launched on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Further reports suggested the publisher is expected to release GTA 6 between late August and December of 2025.

Nintendo, on the other hand, officially announced its highly acclaimed gaming console, Switch 2, on January 16.

The Nintendo Switch’s sequel closely aligns with the design of its original console, with an enlarged display and magnetic Joy-Cons among a range of impressive features aimed to offer an enhanced gaming experience.
