watchOS 12 may be set for some significant updates, though nothing has been confirmed by Apple yet. According to recent reports, the next version of the Apple Watch operating system could include new Apple Intelligence features and a refreshed user interface.
However, these changes are still based on rumours and should be taken with caution.
Apple watchOS 12 new upgrades
One of the most important upgrades possibly arriving with watchOS 12 is a new visionOS-inspired user interface Apple launched when it revealed its mixed-reality platform. It might add additional depth, shadows, and glass-like features to the Apple Watch UI, much like the expected iOS 19 updates.
Meanwhile, the Apple Watch changes could be more subtle, with emphasis on enhancing menus, buttons, and icons instead of an over-the-board redesign. Since watchOS 10 was a redesign in 2023, the modifications in watchOS 12 would be more polished than radical.
Apart from the interface revamp, there are rumours of Apple Intelligence features coming to the Apple Watch in watchOS 12. This might involve better ways to glance at notification summaries, the capacity to make Genmoji directly on the watch, and an improved Siri experience.
However, it’s believed that these features will be exclusive to the new Apple Watch Ultra since the technology behind Apple Intelligence demands a lot of hardware power, such as 8GB of RAM.
