Consumer electronics giant Lenovo has become the official technology partner for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will take place across North America, including the US, Canada, and Mexico.
The partnership marks a massive collaboration wherein Lenovo will provide comprehensive technology solutions for the tournament.
Under the agreement, Lenovo will supply several kinds of hardware, including ThinkPad laptops, Motorola devices, powerful servers, and AI-driven data centre solutions.
In addition to the provision of hardware support for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the company will also oversee the technological operations at all stadiums, ensuring smooth broadcasting, media management, and the functionality of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system, not to mention real-time data management.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is said to be the most ambitious of its kind ever, featuring 104 matches in 16 cities, a scale that requires enormous and efficient technological support for which FIFA has turned to Lenovo, which is known for its reliable and innovative technology.
For an immersive spectator experience, Lenovo will introduce AI solutions, including real-time statistical analysis, interactive data displays, and intelligent logistics management within the stadiums.
Teams and coaches will receive special tablets that provide live tactical data and player performance metrics to facilitate strategic decision-making.
