Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6), the upcoming instalment of Rockstar Games' legendary open-world action franchise, is now 500 days without a single piece of new information.

The game's initial and, to date, sole trailer came out on December 4, 2023. None of the following have followed: a second trailer, any screenshots, or any word from the developer.

GTA 6 recent updates

As of April 17, 2025, fans globally continue to eagerly wait to know more about the game. The trailer, which featured a return to a Miami-themed environment, got millions of views and generated enormous hype. But the months of silence from Rockstar Games have frustrated many players.

While GTA 6 updates are still absent, Grand Theft Auto 5 remains popular over a decade since its launch in 2013. Rockstar has just released an upgraded version for PC with better graphics, ray tracing, quicker load times, and AMD FSR and NVIDIA DLSS support.

Even though it is still successful, most fans are now looking forward to leaving GTA 5 behind and trying something new.

Moreover, Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar's parent company, has officially confirmed that GTA 6 will release in Fall 2025. CEO Strauss Zelnick recently made a statement regarding the current hype, stating that the company would like to "keep the excitement" and will start big marketing near the release date.

With only five to eight months remaining until the predicted release, the absence of fresh information remains a source of concern for fans.

Nevertheless, Take-Two's strategy implies that more information, such as a second trailer, could come later this year.
