Adobe recently launched an assortment of artificial intelligence (AI-driven) features to its popular designing software — Illustrator and Photoshop — with a few more in the pipeline.

Adobe has expanded options for designers by bringing more methods to use the company’s in-house AI models.

Adobe’s new AI-based features allow creative workers to briefly describe their requirements in prompts and get AI-generated textures or pictures that consume a lot of time.

According to Adobe, these features would help “accelerate everyday creative workflows and provide creators more control.”

Adobe’s VP of product marketing, Deepa Subramaniam said: “We just want to put this technology in the hands of our users, so they’re very generous credit limits.”

What’s new in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop?

For Illustrator, Adobe includes Generative Shape Fill, which allows users to apply detailed vectors to shapes simply by entering text prompts in the Contextual Taskbar.

Moreover, users can use other elements in the same document as a basis for filling in a new shape. Everything generated by Generative Shape Fill is vectorised so that you can edit the content.

Another new feature is Mockup, which helps you visualise the result of putting an illustration on a real-life object, like a piece of clothing or packaging.

With just a click, Illustrator analyses the object and implies your illustration to it following the right dimensions and perspectives.

There are other new features Adobe is adding with the update, like the possibility of detecting typefaces from vectors or images and simply editing or replacing them, and with Text to Pattern, you can easily generate fully editable backgrounds for your projects.

As for Photoshop, Adobe adds new features such as the Selection Brush Tool and Adjustment Brush Tool to help with workflows including repetitive tasks.

In addition, there are advancements to the Type Tool and Contextual Taskbar, along with an update to the latest version of Adobe Firefly for generating content using AI.
