A private school in Karachi has made headlines by introducing Pakistan's first AI-powered teacher, Ainee. This innovative step is transforming classrooms and setting a benchmark for the country’s educational sector.

Designed to assist grade 5 students, Ainee teaches mathematics, science, and languages, ensuring a personalised learning experience.

The AI teacher uses advanced technology to answer questions, track student progress, and adapt lessons to individual learning needs. This approach combines artificial intelligence (AI) with traditional classroom teaching, making learning more interactive and effective.

This move reflects Pakistan’s growing focus on AI integration in education and beyond. It also aligns with the federal government’s plans to unveil its first Artificial Intelligence Policy in early 2025.

The policy would aim to strengthen cybersecurity, promote a safer digital environment, and support Pakistan’s journey towards becoming a “Digital Pakistan.”

At the Cyber Threat Intelligence 2024 conference, Syed Junaid Imam from the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom highlighted the importance of AI in ensuring online safety.

He emphasised that the new AI policy would focus on real-time detection of cyber threats and preventing data breaches.

Currently ranked among the top 40 in the Global Cybersecurity Index 2024, Pakistan aspires to improve its standing to the top 10–15 in the coming years. By adopting AI-driven initiatives like Ainee, the country is moving closer to its vision of a digital and secure future.
