Microsoft launched its own artificial intelligence (AI)-powered Recall feature Copilot Plus PCs on November 22. After a series of delays, Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel are now allowed to install a new build of Windows 11 that includes Recall and Click to do.
The members of the Insider Program can join the channel to use their Copilot + PCs with Snapdragon processors, including language support, such as English, French, German, Japanese, Spanish, and simplified Chinese in its preview stage.
Moreover, Microsoft said that it would support the Copilot+ PCs with AMD and Intel Core processors.
What is Microsoft Recall feature?
The Recall feature uses screenshots of users' activities, like emails, images, and website visits on the PC. After this, if user provides the prompts of their search, then AI can provide them with a text-based period that leverages text and visuals that match users' queries.
At Windows Hello, leveraging Bitlocker and Secure Boot will ask for users permission. Microsoft ensures that if the user doesn’t opt and permits to save the snapshots then Windows will not save their screen activity. Additionally, users have full command over what kind of snaps are being saved, the company highlighted that this information would only be saved on the device and would not get into the hands of any third party.
